And the life in here is the life I've been told Yeah, I've seen the battle and I've seen the war And the life out here is the life I've been sold Archangel and of no better pedigree than what you see. He's a soldier first and foremost, an army general who has seen his share of wars and lives with the regret of how many decent young kids he's seen killed on the frontlines. He's not overtly ruled by his calling- rather, he's learned to rule it, and as such, he gets close to people, he often stays in a single location for long periods of time and, most importantly, he can be a pretty damn friendly guy when he gets the mind to be and loves every angel whose ever been under his command or tutelage like they were his own children. At his heart, he's a true knight- chivalrous and righteous. A man who would never start a fight unless the person deserved it and would never hunt down a demon unless they did something worth being hunted down for. An angel who can, will, and has stood up to his superiors to refuse a command that went against his code of honor. Disclaimer: I am not Quentin Tarantino.
